Welcome to the June 2010 Mikasa Events update!
Hello!
It’s been a while since we did one of these and a lot has happened since the last one so here goes...........
Booth
We bought a booth! Not a polling booth or a photo booth, but a DJ booth. It’s shiny and brilliant and we are really pleased with it. It now enables us to be entirely self sufficient and take up a lot less space at your event than before. You can see photos of our new investment below and I think you will agree that it’s pretty classy.

Sunshine
It’s June, which means the start of Big Brother, the World Cup and ice cream vans. It also means we are right in the middle of wedding season and this summer is turning out to be a corker! Weddings in Roehampton, Chatham, Bath, Maidstone and Tenterden kicked off our summer and a great time was had by all (check out our gallery page for all the latest photos). Coming up, events in West Malling, Finchley, Kew Gardens, Cheam and Cambridge, to name a few, will be keeping us busy.
If you have followed us for a while, you may know that we usually decamp to a field for fun and games over the summer as well and this year is no exception. Last year was Sevenoaks and this year is Norwich for NorJam 2010, an event for 8,000 young people. Playing for three nights in August on an outdoor stage, these will be our largest ever party nights and we are getting pretty excited. Keep checking the website for details. Here is a shot from Sevenoaks last year:

Toys
As well as our booth, we also have some other new additions to our ‘fun extras’ range. Our Samsung 32 inch LCD TV is perfect for showing photos and video at your event (and maybe even a PlayStation room for the kids?!). Our new bubble machine is proving an immensely popular addition to weddings and parties and keeps the young ones (and some adults) amused for hours. We have also teamed up with a local supplier and are now able to offer both 50 and 63 inch LCD TV screens, perfect for the World Cup............

November 2009
Welcome to the November Mikasa and DJ Nev update!
Scorcher
It's November, it's cold and it's getting darker earlier in the day. Not the image that comes to mind when you think of the word 'Scorcher'. However, Saturday 31st October saw us playing to over 200 young people at a secret location in rural Kent for the first ever Kent Scouts Scorcher event. Working again with technical wizards Shock Solutions, we put on a six hour party which would put many top nightclubs to shame. Footage taken by the media team for the event has been stitched together into a five minute rundown of what went on and you can view it below:
If you are having an 18th, 21st, sweet sixteen or any other party, contact us to find out how we can turn your venue into a nightclub!
Weddings
On Sunday 25th October, we exhibited at The Wedding Experience show at the County Showground, Detling. The biggest show in the region saw over 1000 couples wandering around to see the various stands on offer. We had a great day with our new uplighting system on display as well as an LCD screen showing photos of some of the weddings we have been at recently. The stand proved extremely popular so if you are looking for entertainment for your wedding, do contact us now. Our free Love Heart sweets also proved extremely popular. No idea why?!
Christmas
Last night saw the Oxford Street Christmas lights being turned on in London. Parties, mince pies and long lines at Bluewater are not too far away. This also means that if you are still to finalise any Christmas parties, you don't have much time left! We still have some availability in November and December so contact us now!

August 2009
Hello and welcome to the latest Mikasa and DJ Nev Newsletter!
It's been a while since we did one of these and there is a lot to cram in, so here goes:
Jamboree
At the end of July, we decamped to a field near Sevenoaks for the Kent International Jamboree. Over 2500 young people had a week of activities and general fun times and we were there to entertain them all! Working together with the amazing stage team and masters of technical event production, Shock Solutions, we provided many hours of DJ fun with lots and lots of dancing. A friend of ours from the media team created a brilliant video and you can see us jumping around to Kings of Leon here:
Receptions and Parties
As well as field-based outdoor fun, we have played at many weddings and private functions around the South-East. Weddings in Richmond Park, Turkey Mill in Maidstone and the Hurlingham Club in Chelsea, amongst others, have been great fun and I am pleased to say that our happy couples have been very lucky with the weather! Our 2010 diary for weddings and parties is filling up fast so get in touch if you are having an event and need some extra-special entertainment. We are also able to supply some really fun 'extras', such as confetti showers, plasma screens, photography and fireworks. Are you having a super-sweet 16th, an 18th or 21st? After something a little bit special at your party? Get in touch now!
All I Want for Christmas is........
Yes, believe it or not, our first Christmas party bookings have started coming in. August may seem a million miles away from turkey, tinsel and Cliff Richard singing Mistletoe and Wine, however it pays to book early so that you don't miss out. Contact us now to discuss your Christmas party options.
