As well as DJing, I'm a freelance event manager. Until the beginning of 2015, I was working as the Fundraising Events Manager for a brilliant charity in Maidstone. I organised 10k runs, cycle rides and trips on the Orient Express. It was a huge amount of fun and great working for a charity that I have a personal link to. However, in March 2015 I was offered a role that was pretty much impossible to turn down.
Secret Cinema are an immersive theatre production company based in London. Over the last few years, they have organised some amazing events such as Back to The Future and Dead Poets Society. I was approached to come on board as the Front of House Manager for their Summer 2015 production of Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. It was an incredible experience - 100 nights to over 100,000 audience members. You can get a feeling of what we get up to here.
After Star Wars, I jumped on the tube and headed to Central London as Customer Services Manager at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. It was an incredible experience at such a great family event. It was a huge learning curve and great to work on such a huge event - over 3 million people visited!
It's now the end of March and I'm back at Secret Cinema. We've just finished the production of Dr Strangelove and we are about to open 28 Days Later running until the end of May. After that, we have a summer of Dirty Dancing fun to look forward to.
However, this doesn't mean that DJing has taken a back seat. I had some brilliant nights last summer at weddings in Kent, London and across the South East. I spent New Years Eve at the stunning Frasers in Kent for Chris and Kelly's wedding - I have never seen so much confetti in one place! 2016 promises to be just as fun!
